已有研究与国内主题公园多年的建设经验已经证实，市场、交通与区域消费水平等层面的门槛条件对主题公园选址与可持续发展有决定性的影响，然而地域文化的因素未得到重视。清明上河园案例，揭示其在不具备主题公园建设和可持续发展的诸多必要条件下，以地域文化为导向，通过主题选择、空间选址和产品更新，实现良好经营并成为地方旅游龙头企业的过程和机制，希望为同类型主题公园开发提供借鉴。
Abstract:
To date, most well-operated, large-scale domestic theme parks are located in those developed and populous cities in China. However, Kaifeng is an exception, where the Millennium City Park is well-established. As this study unpacks, the long-established regional culture has played an integral role in deciding where to locate physically the Millennium City Park. Specifically, on the one hand, the time-honored history of Kaifeng, which used to be the Capital of China dated back to the Earlier Song Dynasty, has provided the Millennium City Park with a wealth of cultural capital. On the other hand, the establishment of this theme park, in turn, would not only develop local tourism but also further promote the ancient culture in Kaifeng. In a way, this study is significant inasmuch as it provides a theoretical basis for developing tourism and city culture in Chinese ancient cities in future.
